Won't You Listen to Me?

Listen to Me is the thirteenth book in Tess Gerritsen’s Rizzoli and Isles series. The series is the inspiration for the popular TV show. In this book, Gerritsen delivers multiple storylines with plenty of twists.

No one is listening to Detective Jane Rizzoli’s mother Angela even though everyone knows mothers know best. She keeps watch over her neighborhood and very little gets by her. She hears the gossip about a runaway teenager down the block; she sees the strange neighbors who have just moved into the neighborhood. Angela just knows something is going on. If only Jane would listen to her, but she just writes off Angela’s concerns as overactive imagination.

Meanwhile, Jane and Medical Examiner Maura Isles are investigating what seems to be the senseless murder of Sofia Suarez. Sofia was a nurse and seemed to be liked by all of her neighbors. She is beat to death in her own home. Why? It comes to light that Sofia had some secrets. She made calls to past contacts and to burner phones during the last days of her life. What was Sofia doing? Jane is the one to make the connection between Sofia and a hit-and-run accident victim.

While working Sofia’s case, Jane finds out that all is not as it seems when Angela is kidnapped right in front of her own home. Can Jane rescue her? Can Jane resolve all of these clues and save the day? Read Listen to Me to find out.
